our Family Story:

Hailing from Manizales, Colombia, the Bernal-Mejia family has been in the farming business for generations. It all began in the year 1906 when the Bernal-Mejia (acquired Finca Java and move their production from rubber to coffee. This medium sized coffee farm is located in the heart of the ‘Eje Cafetero,’ Colombia’s famous coffee-growing region. Its elevation makes it unique as Finca Java is at a higher elevation than most of the other coffee farms in the region. Since acquiring the farm, their family has been perfecting the art of growing the finest Colombian Arabica coffee.

In 2011, after five generations, the Mejias moved from Colombia to Gainesville, Florida. Santa Fe Coffee Co. was created in 2019 to share the family’s farm rich heritage and their passion for providing the highest quality coffee.
